Questions plant owners ask
What happens in a power cut?
The camera, box and router run on a battery for about six hours. Mains loss is recorded and reported once as a power event, not as tampering. If the cut is longer and the battery runs out, the gap is recorded as a blind window and your night message says “camera was off 02:10–05:40 (power)”. You never get an incomplete count shown as complete.
Does it work at night?
Yes. We use white-light illumination at the gate, not infrared, because infrared washes out the load in the tipper bed. Plates are read and load is judged on night footage, and the model is trained on it. A lit gate is also a deterrent on its own.
There is no internet at my plant. Will it work?
The box stores everything at the gate first and keeps working for at least seven days without internet. It syncs whenever the 4G link returns. We supply the router and SIM and pay for the data, so a lapsed recharge can never be the reason you did not get a report. Alerts during an outage arrive late, not never.
Number plates at my plant are covered in mud or dust. Then what?
The truck is still counted; a movement with an unread plate is still a movement. Its photo goes into your night message so you can recognise it yourself, and the box pairs its entry and exit by how the truck looks (colour, shape, markings) where it can. We never guess a plate.
Who installs it?
Our technician. They mount the camera on a pole beside the lane at about five metres, fit the box and router, and finish setup from the app on their phone: draw the gate line on a live frame, watch trucks tracked for a minute, enter your working hours and phone numbers. You get a test WhatsApp message before they leave.
Who owns the data? Can Aariko see my trucks?
The data is yours. Aariko staff can only look at your plant when you have granted support access, and every support action is logged and shown to you in the app under Support access. Photos are served through expiring links, never public. We do not sell or share plant data. Details are in the privacy policy.
What if the camera breaks or someone covers it?
You get a plain-language alert within minutes: camera offline, lens covered, lens needs cleaning, camera turned, clock wrong. A power cut is reported as a power cut, not as tampering. If hardware fails, we replace it; the gap is recorded as a blind window so the record stays honest.
Which languages?
Marathi, Hindi and English. The language is chosen per plant and can be changed by the owner in the app. The WhatsApp message, the alerts and every app screen follow it. Times are written the way people say them: रात्री 2:14.
iPhone or Android?
Both. iOS 15 and up, Android 8 and up. The app is under 30 MB and runs fine on a 2 GB RAM phone. It loads thumbnails first and keeps the last seven days on the phone, so it is never blank when your signal drops.
I have more than one plant.
One login, a plant switcher at the top of the app. Each plant sends its own night message. Each plant can have several owners; a family business can add every partner's phone.
Can my gatekeeper or manager log in?
In the current product, no. Only owners log in, because the system exists to check the people at the gate. Phase 2 adds a gatekeeper login with one screen that confirms the dispatch note (customer, product, quantity) when the camera sees a truck; the owner creates and can pause that login, and a loaded truck leaving without a note becomes an owner alert.
Will this hold up in a dispute with a customer or transporter?
Every movement has a timestamped photo of the plate and of the body, direction, and a hash chained to the previous record, verified on every sync. Nobody, including Aariko, can alter a record after it is written. You can show a customer the exact photo and time their truck left.
Does it tell me how many tonnes left?
It gives an estimate: loaded exits multiplied by the average load per truck you set in the app. It is always labelled as an estimate and is left out until you set the average. The camera does not weigh trucks. A weighbridge integration is on the roadmap.
Will I get ten messages at night?
No. The first after-hours truck comes with its photo. Any more in the next fifteen minutes are folded into one line: “3 more trucks since 02:14 — see app”. If you have authorised a night run, tap “Not tonight” and alerts pause until your working hours start.
What does it cost?
Priced per gate and quoted after a short call: plant type, district, gates, working hours. Camera, box, router and SIM, installation, app, WhatsApp and support are included. Message us on WhatsApp for a quote.
